Do you know what today is?
If you guessed Thursday or St. Patrick’s Day, you wouldn’t be wrong — but neither of those is quite cause for all-caps internet shouting. Today, however, is the start of something I’ve been looking forward to since March of 2015: Birthday Princess Week on Domesticate Me.
My birthday doesn’t land until Tuesday, but a proper birthday celebration deserves more than one day, so I celebrate for a full week. There will be cocktails, treats, confessions, and a little bit of nonsense both in real life and on the blog. I’m already two days in, and so far it’s going well. After a year that was equal parts hilarious, exciting, stressful, and long, 29 is getting a proper send-off.
I hope Logan remembered to order my Momofuku cake.

To kick things off, I’m sharing a bright, dressed-up cocktail: the Kiwi Kiss. It’s essentially a kiwi-forward twist on a mojito — a sweet-tart blend of ripe kiwi, fresh mint, lime juice, and light rum. The fruit’s natural sweetness means you don’t need much added sugar, so this cocktail tastes indulgent without being cloying. It’s light, refreshing, and perfectly suited to warm-weather entertaining.
This recipe makes four cocktails and scales easily for larger crowds. Because everything is blended, it’s an excellent batch cocktail for brunches, showers, birthdays, or any spring gathering. The vivid green hue also makes it an eye-catching choice for St. Patrick’s Day sips.

Prep Time: 10 mins | Total Time: 5 mins | Servings: 4 cocktails
Ingredients
- 4 kiwis
- 1/3 cup fresh mint leaves
- Juice of 1 lime
- 1 cup light rum
- 1 teaspoon honey or agave (adjust to taste)
- Club soda, to top
For garnish (optional)
- Kiwi or lime rounds
Instructions
- Slice the kiwis in half crosswise and scoop the flesh into a blender.
- Add the mint leaves, lime juice, rum, and honey or agave. Blend until smooth. There will still be visible kiwi seeds — that’s normal and fine. Taste and add a little more sweetener if you prefer a sweeter drink.
- Divide the kiwi mixture among four glasses filled with ice. Top each glass with 2–3 ounces of club soda to add some fizz and lighten the texture.
- Garnish with a kiwi or lime round if desired, and serve immediately.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version, replace the rum with non-alcoholic ginger beer for a spicy kick or coconut water for a milder, tropical flavor.

This cocktail is simple to make, visually stunning, and packed with fresh flavor. It’s a great option if you want something that feels special without requiring a long ingredient list or complicated prep. If you’re hosting, make a double or triple batch in the blender and keep club soda on the side so guests can add fizz to taste.
Whether you’re celebrating a birthday week or just craving something bright and citrusy, the Kiwi Kiss is an easy way to elevate your next gathering. Cheers to week-long celebrations and to making small moments feel a little more festive.
